Whisering Oaks next show is Westcoast Morgan's Jan. 9 Open Show at their farm.. It features Saddle Seat , Hunt Seat and Western. Show is open to the public.

FCF Protege' dies!

The great gelding FCF Protege' died after a brief illness at the Surgicare Veterinarian Hospital in Brandon Fl. Protege' was owned by Cassie Bell of Odessa Fl. and shown by her in Pleasure and Equitation for a number of years. Protege' placed in the Top 10 in all his Equitation classes at the Morgan Grand Nationals this year and was Res World Champion with Cassie in the Walk Trot Equitation in 2005. Protege' was 16. He was stabled at Whispering Oaks and trained by Jenn Scotto.

Janice King Forbes

Janice King Forbes passed away peacefully at 77 years, after a brief illness on November 19,2009 at the Oconee Medical Center, Salem, S.C. She leaves behind Husband Frank Forbes, Son Frank Forbes of Douglas Mass, Daughters Janice Forbes Scotto of Tampa, Fl. and Jennifer Forbes of Boston, Mass. Grand Children William Klee, Alex Forbes Stevens, Sumner Forbes, Jennifer Scotto and Jesse Scotto. She also leaves 7 Great Grandchildren.
Janice was a Morgan lover having a Morgan named Prince when she was a child. She was active in the Conn. Appaloosa Assoc.and could be seen helping her daughters Janice and Jennifer at most of the Horse Shows were they were competing. Horse Show brownies were one of her specialties. She was a crusader for Animals and was instrumental in founding the Friends Of Animals no kill shelter in Clemson, S.C. Janice was also a fabulous vocalist singing in her church Choirs, Choral Groups, and small musicals. Janice will be missed by all who knew her.

WHISPERING OAKS WINS HARVEST DAYS HORSE SHOW COSTUME CLASS THIRD YEAR IN A ROW!

The Theme was a Old Fashioned Carosel. Thank-you Daine Stacy for the wonderful costumes for our Equine Participants, Howie, Axel, Pharoh, and Britt. Thanks to all our entrants Diane Stacy, Amanda Stacy,John Scionti, Abby Grundon, Dani and Debi Lail, Ashton Gamso, Ashley Wright,Jennifer Grundon, Karen Farnell, Mckenzie Wunderly,and Jennifer Scotto for making this a huge success. Whiserping Oaks also won the Stall Decorating Contest.

Helpful Hints

Use white vinegar to clean mold off your tack then clean with Saddle Soap and Oil.

Training Stalls Available at Whispering oaks

We have a limited number of Training stalls available thie winter. We specailize in Saddle Seat Equitations but Train English Pleasure, Park, Western Pleasure, Hunter, Western and Hunt Seat Equitation,Driving and Barrel Racing. We have Champions in all these divisions. Reasonable Rates both at the Farm and The Shows.We also have show horses for lease. Look for us this week at the Harvest Days Horse Show.

Did you know?

Triple antibiotic ointment can be used a wound dressing and can be purchased at your local Discount Store of Pharmacy.

Iodized Table salt can be used instead of electrolyte suppliments. Gator Aide can also be given in the drinking water.

Green Alcohol is a good leg brace as is Listerine.

Horse Itchy? put a 1/2 bottle of Listerine in the final rinse of the bath.

Hoof Dressing can be made from 1/2 peanut oil and 1/2 used motor oil mixed together in a can.

Harvest Days Horse Show in Tampa Fl is the next show the riders of Whispering Oaks will compete in. The show is Oct.29-Nov.1 at the Florida State Fair Grounds. Whispering Oaks will try to win the Costume class for the 3rd year in a row.Thanks to the special efforts and talents of Diane Stacy. Go WO!

Morgan Grand Nationals

Congratulations to Madye and Cassie Bell on their upcoming Morgan Grand Nationals In October. They will conpete under the guidence of their Trainer Jenn Scotto of Whispering Oaks. Horses competing from Whispering Oaks are FCF Protege [ Performance Horse for September] and Cedar Creek Uproar. The girls will compete in Saddle Seat Equitation, Park harness and Park Saddle Jr. Exhibitor. Best of luck to all!

End HS put on by the Florida Morgan Horse Club Aug. 9 - Aug.13. This is the last Florida show to qualify for the Morgan Grand Nationals in Oklahoma City OK.
